just_1_word :: 7.1 Kissed
He kissed her.
They'd known each other since that last year of high school when all their lives got a lot more scaly. He was strong and passionate while still being gentle and caring. She could always count on him to be there, to offer an encouraging word or the hard truth, depending on what the situation called for. Those were the qualities that made him a Ranger, as well as her best friend.
It was what she knew when he leaned closer, when a hand rested on the small of her back while the other tilted her chin upward and to just the right angle. The way his lips moved against hers told her much more. They told her how much he felt for her, how long he'd been holding it in. They told her how much he wanted her, and to her surprise, sparked the same desire in her.
When their lips parted and his forehead rested on hers, things had changed.
She stared into those warm brown eyes for a few moments before she whispered his name.
"Conner..."
It was all she could manage before she lifted her head and pulled him down into another kiss.
A minute before, she'd only seen him as a friend. Just a soft, simple brush of his lips and all that changed. Things would never be the same.
